Sure the nerdy Google Glasses came and went with hardly a whimper, but tech experts expect AR Glasses to be appearing on the faces of the tech savvy early adopters in the near future.

“They aren’t here yet,” said Oculus’s chief scientist Michael Abrash at a recent developers’ conference. “But when they arrive, they’re going to be the great transformational technologies of the next 50 years.”

Video games have been pre-programming our kids for AR for the last few years, so they’ll be ready to adopt they moment they become available. And the latest cell phones are already have a few tentative AR friendly apps available like the Pixel 2’s ability to take your kid’s picture with AR Star Wars stormtroopers and wookies looking over their shoulders.
